From the outset, we understood that this project would be special, and certainly complex, despite the reduced dimensions of the proposal.

The small dimensions of a plot between walls, in a secondary street in the municipality of Cieza (Murcia) and the extensive program provided by our clients, has dragged some complexity throughout its development.

The enthusiasm showed by the young couple that makes us the commission of their first house leads us to present a contemporary proposal that clearly stood out among the anodyne facades of the street.

Our main condition has been to locate in a plot of just 50 m2 and 6.20 of the facade a house that should include a living room, kitchen with patio outside, taking advantage of the weather of Murcia for having breakfast outside, in addition to a night area with a master bedroom with dressing room and bathroom en-suite, two-bedroom for their future children with a shared bathroom and a pool with a solarium.

We carry out a study of the circulations and the vertical communications for dividing spaces as we ascend; from the public to private areas.

The only exception to this strategy is the pool area, which for obvious reasons should be placed on the deck to guarantee the sun. In order to enhance the building, we decide to project an overhang volume ( that emphasizes the main facade with a corten steel box ) we need to raise the distance between slabs according to municipal regulations.

This free height of 3.50 meters allows us to design a partition blind to 1.70 m, guaranteeing privacy from pedestrians, while the large glass of 1.80 guarantees the entrance of natural light, changing all over the day.

This same height allows us to project a sculptural staircase that is lightened as it ascends to the private plants of the house.
